Delve into Oxford’s prison past before treating dad to a pint this Father’s Day

Oxford Castle Quarter - Oxford’s most historic venue is set around Oxford Castle & Prison, once the setting of a Victorian jail. This Father’s Day, why not take dad on a tour into the criminal, ghostly past of Oxford Castle & Prison? Costumed character guides will lead you through the rich and fascinating history of the 1,000 year old castle, and regale tales of prison inmates. You can even take a mug shot of dad at the end!

Following a tour, treat dad to a bite to eat and a pint at the onsite Slug & Lettuce, or visit the on-site Malmaison Hotel which was, until 1996, also a prison! From punishment to pleasure, many of the original prison features within the luxurious boutique Malmaison remain and the hotel’s Chez Mal Brasserie is offering a lunch priced from £24.95 per person this Father’s Day, which includes a free beer for dad.
