Oxford is widely believed to be one of the UK's most haunted cities, and what better place to visit this Halloween than the city’s most historic location, Oxford Castle Quarter!

Set amongst the grounds of the ancient site, which has a history spanning ten centuries, is an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants who have a number of spooktacular offers on this month which all the family can enjoy.

Spookiest of all is Oxford Castle & Prison, who are bringing back the popular Ghost Fest which features a range of haunting, and unforgettable events. From ‘Spooktacular Potions’ during half term week, when children will take the role of apprentices and learn the art of spell craft and create magic potions in the ghostly 900 year old crypt to nightly, ghoulish guided tours which are set to run daily from the 25th October until Halloween for the over 11’s. 

Tours feature tales of recent ghostly encounters and horrible histories from the past. Or, for those with nerves of steel, book onto the midnight Halloween tour! To calm nerves the midnight tour will conclude with a glass of bubbles!

TV’s Most Haunted’s parapsychologist, Ciaran O’Keeffe will also be holding ‘Demons & the Damned evenings on 23rd & 27th October.

For meals with the children Oxford Castle Quarter is also home to Prezzo, who are offering ‘Children eat for £1’ with every full paying adult until 1st November, and Pizza Express, who are bringing back Halloween Dough Balls!

Creepy, kooky, delicious and spooky… Halloween Dough Balls will feature on the popular Piccolo menu from 26th October to 4th November! A twist on the iconic fluffy Baked Dough Balls, they take the shape of a terrifyingly delicious pumpkin and all customers have to do to order them is say…….“Boo!”.

Evening drinks will be available at the on-site Slug & Lettuce and Swan & Castle, or the sophisticated 1855, while the atmospheric Bar at The Malmaison Hotel, set within the Old Prison, is offering a new Autumnal Cocktail Menu.
