Birds of prey
This summer, the birds of prey are retuning to Oxford Castle and Prison! Experience the thrill of being a medieval falconer and get up close and personal with magnificent birds of prey. At this event, you will see owls, falcons, and hawks soaring through the air, diving for their prey, and showing off their incredible hunting skills. You can choose from a handling session where you have the chance to hold and admire the birds up close, or take part in a flying session, where you can fly the birds under supervision of expert handlers. This event will run throughout summer, from 15th June - 31st August. Book here.
Can you take on the quest?
This summer, Knight School returns to Oxford Castle & Prison! It’s time for the kids to head over to the Castleyard, don their armour, sharpen their swords, and prepare to set out on a quest.
For only £14 per child, the little ones can enjoy medieval weapons training, archery, shield skills, and jousting. Throughout Knight School, the little ones will be supervised by the Castle’s knights. Knight School will take place on selected dates between the 27th July and 30th August.

Watch live performances in the Castleyard this summer
This Summer, The Oxford Shakespeare Festival returns to Oxford Castle & Prison with three incredible live performances. This year, you can choose from Romeo & Juliet with Troilus and Cressida, Twelfth Night, and Hamlet. Performances will run in the Castleyard from Monday 17th June - Saturday 10th August (excluding Sundays). Find out more and book your tickets here.
